01. What It's Built For

Bring us the agreement you think is too messy for this. The 300-page contract, the side letters, the MOUs, the amendments layered in over decades of bargaining. AviChat isn't a chatbot with your PDF pasted in. Every deployment is a custom implementation of your agreement, so the grey areas get defined by your officers, not discovered by your members.

02. How It Gets Built

This is not plug-and-play. And that's the point.

Every deployment is a custom implementation, done by our team, with your officers. Three to four weeks, no IT department required.

Step 1

We ingest everything, including the contradictions.

Your full agreement, side letters, MOUs, LOUs, and every amendment layered in over the years. The bigger and messier the document set, the more the custom implementation matters. This is the work we built our process around.

Step 2

We sit down with your officers and map the grey areas.

Where the language is ambiguous, in the clauses your own stewards argue about, we don't let the system guess. We work through them with your officers and define, together, what it should say and when it should send a member to a rep instead.

Step 3

Nothing goes live until your officers sign off.

We configure your industry's terminology and test against real scenarios from your operation. Your team reviews every section and approves it before a single member sees it.

03. Who It Serves

One agreement. Three jobs it does.

For Leadership

Lead with data, not guesswork.

Anonymized, topic-level insight into what members ask becomes smarter education campaigns, and real data at the bargaining table.

Stop entering bargaining without data on what members actually struggle with.

For Reps & Stewards

Stop losing your best reps to questions they've answered a thousand times.

Routine lookups are handled with a citation. Stewards are freed for grievances, arbitrations, and organizing: the work that needs a person.

For Members

Know your rights in the moment.

Cited answers on any phone, 24/7, in plain language, while the question still matters, not after the shift is over.

04. Security & Privacy

Built for the questions your counsel will ask.

Liability audit trail

Every answer is logged with its citation, so there is always a record of what was asked and what the agreement said.

📄 Every answer cited & logged

Complete data sovereignty

Your data is stored exclusively on servers in your country, is never used to train external systems, and belongs to the union: before, during, and after.

A flight attendant lands at 2:58 a.m. after a mechanical delay stretches her duty day to sixteen hours, and her next report is noon. She asks AviChat how much rest she's owed at home base. Sixteen hours, not twelve, with the article cited. No voicemail, no waiting for the office to open.

06. Questions Unions Ask First

The worst fears, first.

Our agreement is hundreds of pages, amended for decades, and full of grey areas. Can it actually handle that?

That's the agreement we built this for. Long, layered contracts with side letters, MOUs, and language rewritten across bargaining cycles are our specialty. We cut our teeth on aviation agreements, among the most complex in any industry, and AviChat is live with one of Canada's largest pilot groups today. Setup is a custom implementation, not an upload: our team ingests every document, then works directly with your officers to walk through the difficult provisions before launch. If your contract were simple, you wouldn't need us.

What about clauses even our own stewards disagree on?

We don't let the system guess. During implementation, ambiguous language is flagged and worked through with your officers: you decide what the system says, and where it should stop and refer the member to a steward instead. Where a clause has a settled reading, members get it, cited. Where it doesn't, the system says so and sends the member to a rep. Defining those boundaries with your officers is most of what our setup weeks are for.

Can our employer see any of this?

No. Your employer has no access, no visibility, and no relationship with AviChat. It is not a party to the service in any way. The subscription belongs to the union; the employer is not involved in setup, billing, or operation, and nothing is ever shared with them.

What safeguards prevent inaccurate answers?

Every answer comes only from your collective agreement and cites the article and section it relies on, so it can be checked in seconds. When a question falls outside the agreement, AviChat says so and points the member to their steward instead of guessing. Your officers review and approve the setup before launch. In live use with one of Canada's largest pilot groups, members have tried to argue it into the answer they wanted; it re-cited the rule and held.

What member data does leadership see?

Topic-level patterns only: for example, that overtime questions rose last quarter. Leadership cannot see who asked what. Individual lookups are impossible by design, not just by policy.

Where is our data stored and who can access it?

Stored exclusively on servers in your country: Canada for Canadian unions, the United States for U.S. unions. The union owns it. It is never used to train external systems, and access is limited to operating the service for your union.

Does this replace reps?

No. It handles the routine lookups reps answer a thousand times a year, so stewards are freed for grievances, arbitrations, and organizing: the work that actually needs a person.

How is this different from ChatGPT?

General tools draw on the open internet and will answer anything, invented if needed. AviChat is built only on your collective agreement, cites the article and section on every answer, and declines questions outside it. Read the full comparison →

Is AviChat an AI tool, and is it safe for unions to use?

AviChat uses language-processing technology, but only to search your union's own collective agreement — never the open internet. Every answer cites the exact article and section. Your data never leaves your country, is never used to train outside systems, and leadership can never see individual member questions.

Do we need an IT team?

No. We handle setup end to end: ingesting your agreement, configuring the system for your industry's terminology, and preparing it for your officers' approval. Three to four weeks, no IT department required.

How do members access it?

On the web or through the iOS and Android apps, using a link the union shares. Members ask in plain language and get a cited answer. Nothing to install at the union office, nothing to configure.

What does it cost?

AviChat is an annual subscription held by the union as an organization, priced per union based on membership size and agreement complexity. Members never pay anything. We provide a specific quote after a walkthrough of your agreement.
